Emma is a bilingual (English/Spanish) research assistant who earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (UNL) and will complete her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology in August 2026. Her master’s thesis, “Assessing the Language and Reading Abilities of Students with Mosaic Down Syndrome,” reflects her interest in supporting individuals with Down syndrome, especially those with mosaic Down syndrome, in their language and literacy development. As an MPUP-SPADE scholar at UNL, her graduate training has also focused on working with children who are deaf or hard of hearing.
