Living with Parkinson’s: From Research to Care


The Parkinson’s Foundation will host Living with Parkinson’s: From Research to Care, a free in-person educational program, on Monday, April 13, at The Relevant Center in Elkhorn, NE.

The program will feature expert speakers:

  • Rachel Spooner, Ph.D., Boys Town National Research Hospital Institute for Human Neuroscience
  • Jamison Hofer, DO, AQH, Neurology Consultants of Nebraska,
  • Maggie Caulfield, Ph.D., Parkinson’s Foundation

Program Overview
This program provides an overview of current Parkinson’s research and its impact on treatment and care. Participants will learn the difference between studies targeting symptoms and those aiming to slow disease progression, as well as explore recent advancements and how ongoing research may shape future therapies and personal care. The program will also include a live Q&A session with Parkinson’s experts.

  • 1:00-4:30 p.m. - Main Program

Before the main program begins at 1:00 p.m., attendees are invited to visit a Resource Fair from 12:00–1:00 p.m., featuring local community partners offering services and support for people living with Parkinson’s disease.

There is no charge to attend, but registration is required. The program is open to people with Parkinson's, their families, friends, care partners, medical providers/practitioners, and the community
