Understanding Cerebral Palsy: A Mobility and Brain Imaging Study
Mobility is a human right that is often taken for granted but a valuable resource for people with disabilities. Typically, people focus on physical therapy and strength training to improve gait but often overlook how important the brain is to this process. The PoWER Lab Research Team at Boys Town National Research Hospital uses innovative technology to observe how the brain and body works together while walking. The information gathered can help tailor physical therapy to increase not only physical movement and strength, but also brain functionality to improve mobility.
Who can participate?
Eligible participants are:
- Between the ages of 13 and 18 years old
- Diagnosed with cerebral palsy or early brain injury by a medical care provider

What will participants do?
Participants will complete 4 in-person visits that can either be completed in one day or across multiple days.
Participants will:
- Complete clinical assessments with a licensed physical therapist
