Verb Learning Research
The purpose of this study is to learn more about how to grow children's vocabularies by teaching children verbs that are hard to learn. Children will complete a variety of assessments as well as play a series of games on the computer guided by the researcher.
Who can participate?
- Children with language difficulties or suspected of having language difficulties
- Ages 5-8 years old
Your child may have difficulties with language if they:
- Have difficulty following directions or staying on task
- Act out or become quiet in social settings
- Are having a hard time learning to read or write
- Need extra support at school
Additional Requirements
Children should have normal hearing and have been exposed to English since birth.
Time Commitment
Four 1-hour sessions and one 2-hour session. 6 hours total across five sessions. First session is a qualification session. Additional sessions will be scheduled after eligibility is determined.

Compensation
Up to $90 cash, five small prizes, and a free hearing and language evaluation
